Global Campus International Conference 2021 – Climate Change and Children: Impact, Rights and Participation

Climate change has been identified by United Nations’ agencies and experts as one of the biggest threats to children’s health. Globally, children are being detrimentally affected by climate shocks (e.g. droughts, floods, cyclones) and related diseases, polluted air, soil and water, exposure to toxic substances. Despite contributing the least to the causes of climate change, children are the worst affected by it, right now and in the future.

Support the people of Timor Leste: An announcement from the Global Campus of Human Rights on the recent floods

As the largest global network of universities involved in human rights education, with a presence in Timor-Leste, the Global Campus of Human Rights wishes to express its solidarity with the people and institutions of Timor-Leste, recently hit by a devastating flood.

This dramatic event has caused extensive damages throughout the country, and claimed the lives of many, including several children, while the count of displaced people is above 10,000.

Comunicato Stampa in merito alla partecipazione del GLOBAL CAMPUS OF HUMAN RIGHTS alla VII Commissione consiliare

Il Global Campus of Human Rights e’ un network di eccellenza nella formazione post-universitaria internazionale. L’origine risale al 1997 grazie all’iniziativa congiunta dell’Unione Europea e di 10 università europee, coordinate dall’Università di Padova, che hanno istituito il Master Europeo in Diritti Umani e Democratizzazione. Sostenuto sin dagli albori dal Comune di Venezia il consorzio è stato ospitato prima alla Giudecca, e dal 1998 presso il Monastero di San Nicolò.

In merito alle notizie di stampa uscite il 4 aprile, il Global Campus of Human Rights, che ha in concessione il Monastero di San Nicolò fino al 2023, rimane in attesa di chiarimenti ufficiali nel corso della VII Commissione consiliare che si terrà mercoledì 7 aprile 2021 alle 14.30 in collegamento streaming prima di pronunciarsi.

Dr Johan Heyns: An Exorcist of Apartheid – in Memory of his Son Christof Heyns

On Sunday, 28 March, Christof Heyns suddenly and unexpectedly passed away during a hike in his native country South Africa. As founder of the Human Rights Centre at the University of Pretoria and the African Master in Human Rights and Democratisation, he was one of the pioneers and architects of the Global Campus of Human Rights.
