Applications now open for the EU Charter seminar

We are thrilled to invite you to apply to the 1st EIUC seminar on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, to be held 6-7 February, 2015. Application Period is now open until 7 January, Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Please note that early bird seminar fees apply for those who register before 1 December.

Since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union has acquired the same legal value as the Treaties. The Charter is addressing the EU institutions and Members States when implementing EU rules and brings about interesting perspectives for the role of national courts in its direct application.

The two-day seminar organised by the EIUC explores the scope and usefulness of the Charter for the legal practitioners facing the national courts or the Court of Justice of the EU, mostly by means of preliminary reference.

The seminar, which shall enrol around 40 participants (lawyers, judges, legal scholars, legal experts working for NGOs, etc.), is designed to be interactive, and participants are encouraged to bring questions and share their experiences.
