Ceremony for the Awarding of Diplomas of the “European Master in Human Rights and Democratisation” in memoriam Prof. Antonio Papisca: #20yearsEma

The Ceremony of the Awarding of Diplomas of the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA) for the academic year 2016/2017 and inauguration of the class of 2017/2018, was held at the beautiful Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice on Sunday, 24 September 2017, at 16.00.

The Ceremony was dedicated to paying tribute to our dear friend and founding father of the programme and EIUC, Antonio Papisca, who sadly passed away in mid-May this year. Among the guest speakers Stavros Lambrinidis, EU Special Representative for Human Rights, and former member of the European Parliament. The Ceremony was accompanied by the ensemble Musicians for Human Rights.

It was an important moment to commend the accomplishments of the Global Campus of Human Rights, a network of 100 universities, together with the EMA and EIUC community - the Rectors and Professors of all EIUC and E.MA participating universities, the EIUC Advisory Board members, the partners of the Global Campus as well as representatives of international organisations and local government authorities that actively support the programme - primarily the European Union as EIUC’s and the Global Campus’ major founder and financing partner – and the Region of Veneto, the Municipality of Venice, the Council of Europe, OSCE, UNESCO and the United Nations.

During the Ceremony we announced the winners of the Global Campus Visual Contest la 2017, photo and video contest on the theme Memory and Reconciliation (www.globalcampusvisualcontest.org).

On Saturday, 23 September, we celebrated #20yearsEma (Pictures Link: )
