Delegation of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament to visit EIUC

A delegation of five members of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament (DROI), led by Barbara Lochbihler, will conduct an official mission to the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) / Global Campus of Human Rights premises from 20 to 22 September 2018.

With the European Parliament as one of the longstanding partners of EIUC / GC of Human Rights, the mission is a follow-up to previous exchanges with members of the Subcommittee with a view to enhancing the understanding of MEPs of the institution, having the chance to meet and debate with its management as well as professors, students and institutional partners, and to discuss the parameters of a deepened partnership for the near future.

MEPs are going to have substantial exchanges with academics of the network on pressing Human Rights issues as well as the role and state of Human Rights education. As the new edition of the EMA, European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation, has just started, with the welcome of 91 students from the EIUC staff, the five members of the Subcommittee will have discussions and workshops with them on the work of the European Parliament in relation to Human Rights issues.
