EIUC Human Rights Film Award 2006 (copia)

The dual ceremony of awarding the E.MA European Joint Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation to the graduates of the 2005/2006 academic year and the official opening of the tenth academic year took place on 24 September 2006 in the beautiful Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice.

The audience of more than 420 persons was welcomed by Prof. Horst Fischer, EIUC President, and Prof. Elmar Weiler, Rector Designatus, Ruhr-University Bochum. Local authorities were represented by Dott.ssa Rita Zanutel, Councillor, Province of Venice, and by Dott. Diego Vecchiato, Director, Directorate International Relations and Human Rights, Region of Veneto.

The opening addresses were offered by Mr.Thomas Hammarberg, Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe, and Amb. Christian Strohal, Director, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, ODIHR.
The Harmonie Brass Quintet added to the ambience of this festive event.
