Human Rights Film Festival 2019: What Are We Leaving for Our Children?

The EMA / Global Campus Europe students of the Global Campus of Human Rights announce the 2019 Human Rights Film Festival on Saturday, 7 December 2019 at Palazzo Michiel/European Cultural Centre – Strada Nuova 4391 Campo Santi Apostoli 30121 Venezia, Italy.

This year’s theme is Future Generations: What Are We Leaving for Our Children? which welcomes a wide variety of human rights experts, activists, and academics that will lead interactive workshops and discussions and present film screenings on important human rights issues today. The event aims to raise awareness about human rights worldwide and to show how everyday people and communities can make a difference.

Through the lens of children’s rights, we will present four distinct human rights issues including:

- Environment

- Migration

- Incarceration

- Gender and Sexuality

The festival will conclude by highlighting the positive advancements made by children and young filmmakers. This year the festival team is also committed to making the event environmentally sustainable by focusing on local partners and sustainable travel options.

Partners and Sponsors of the Event include: The Global Campus of Human Rights - Global Campus Europe, Right Livelihood Foundation, La Scuola dell’Infanzia Diaz, Sea-Watch, Venice Muncipality, Visual Pro 360, Centro Yoga Namaste Venezia, Rede Justiça Criminal, and Tralaltro Arcigay Padova
