Human Rights Film Festival: With Open Eyes: Human Rights in Focus

On the 6 and 7of December 2014, the Human Rights Film Festival titled With Open Eyes: Human Rights in Focus will take place at the Spazio Porto located in San Marta. The event is organised by the current students of the European Master's Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA) -EIUC’s main teaching programme- in order to celebrate the Human Rights Day.

The doors will be open from 14h to 22h, and a detailed program is available on our With Open Eyes - Human Rights Film Festival Facebook page and EIUC website.

Notable headliners include Everyday Rebellion, a new documentary centering on methods of resistance supported by technology, and the award winning Pray the Devil Back to Hell, a riveting documentary about the women’s initiative in the Liberian peace movement. In addition to film screenings, the E.MA students will be coordinating panel discussions featuring the film directors, as well as experts in the field of human rights.

The project is once again being organised by the students of the E.MA from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation, located in the Monastero di San Nicolò at the Lido di Venezia. The support and collaboration of EIUC, the Municipality of Venice through its Centro Pace, the Council of Europe Programme Office in Venice and E.MAlumni & Global Campus Alumni network, were crucial to set up a film festival dedicated to the cause of Human Rights.
