25/01/2013: 3rd E.MA Career Day with the E.MAlumni Association
The 3rd E.MA Career Day took place on 25 January 2013 at the Monastery of San Nicolò, Lido, Venice. This popular event jointly organised by EIUC and the E.MAlumni Association represent an important date in the calendar of the E.MA year.
Especially in the current economic climate students are anxious about their career prospects. A small group of the many highly successful alumni of the E.MA programme returned to Venice to share their vast experiences and offer advice to the future human rights professionals. Working in different sectors including Intergovernmental Organisations, NGOs and private sector, the distinguished speakers provided an overview of their respective organisations and discussed the challenges and benefits of career paths in these fields, thereby demystifying the job search and helping current students choose a career path that's right for them.
In addition to these interactive sessions, the full-day programme also included a panel discussion, 1:1 consultation sessions and CV advice from a Human Resource professional. An ideal opportunity for students to practice crucial networking skills was offered by the evening reception which was opened to all alumni of the E.MA programme, representatives from Regional Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation as well as Global Campus staff.
