6th Edition of the CUPL Human Rights Academy
EIUC re-confirmed this year its participation to the 6th edition of the Human Rights Academy organized in Beijing by the Chinese University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) .
This unique Human Rights Law’s Summer Programme started in 2009 with the support of many human rights scholars, human rights institutions, such as EIUC, and university leaders of CUPL.
This year the topics selected concerned all fundamental human rights issues such as refugees and protection for people seeking asylum, the data protection and the right to privacy, minority and indigenous rights, the role of the national Human Rights Commissions to name a few. Prof . Kalliope Agapiou Josephides, EIUC Board Vice President, was invited to give a lecture on the question of Gender Equality and Democracy. On behalf of EIUC she delivered with professor Zhang Wei, co-Director of the Institute for Human Rights of CUPL, the diplomas to the students who followed the Summer Programme.
