9 November 2010: Lecture by Prof. Giuliano Amato on “The European Union or a Union of States?”

On 9 November 2010, after an introduction by Cà Foscari’s Rector Carlo Carraro, Prof. Giuliano Amato will deliver a lecture onThe European Union or a Union of States?” within the Cà Foscari International Lectures, an initiative organised in collaboration with EIUC. Prof. Amato is a Constitutional Law Professor. He was Prime Minister of Italy twice, first from 1992 to 1993 and then from 2000 to 2001. From 2006 to 2008, he was the Minister of the Interior in Romano Prodi's government. He was more recently Vice President of the Convention on the Future of Europe that elaborated the text of what should have become the European Constitution, a text which was repealed in 2004 but opened the way to the subsequent adoption of the Lisbon Treaty.
