IN MEMORIAM OF PROF. STEFANO RODOTA

La nostra istituzione ricorda Stefano Rodotà, il giurista e professore scomparso il 23 giugno all'età di 84 anni. Costituzione, democrazia, privacy e nuove tecnologie sono state da sempre al centro dei suoi lavori. Rodotà à stato docente ordinario di diritto civile, punto di riferimento nel dibattito accademico e culturale; nel suo lungo impegno civile e istituzionale è stato più volte parlamentare e primo presidente dell'Autorità garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Ha partecipato alla Venice School of Human Rights (2015) dove ha condiviso la sua esperienza con gli studenti e si è dimostrato sempre partecipe alle nostre attività.

Oggi 26 giugno il feretro sarà  portato all'Università, La Sapienza di Roma; alle ore 11, nell'aula 101 della Facoltà di Giurisprudenza, rappresentanti delle istituzioni, docenti, studenti e personale tecnico-amministrativo renderanno omaggio alla figura e al pensiero di Stefano Rodotà con una cerimonia funebre.

Condividiamo il pensiero di tanti nel mondo academico: "In qualità di rettore della Sapienza - dichiara Eugenio Gaudio - amo ricordare Stefano Rodotà soprattutto come professore, un professore che ha saputo interpretare con coerenza e impegno straordinari i principi costituzionali, facendo dell'insegnamento una missione al servizio dei giovani a cui non ha mai fatto mancare ascolto e consigli. Per questo motivo era amato e rispettato dai suoi studenti che lo saluteranno, insieme a tutta la comunità universitaria, nella Facoltà dove per tanti anni ha insegnato".

Alla cerimonia interverranno il rettore Eugenio Gaudio, il preside della Facoltà di Giurisprudenza Paolo Ridola,  il professore di Diritto civile Guido Alpa e il professore Diritto costituzionale Gaetano Azzariti. E prevista la diretta streaming.

Our institution remembers Stefano Rodotà, the lawyer and professor who passed away on June 23 at the age of 84. Constitution, democracy, privacy and new technologies have always been at the center of his work, Rodotà was a point of reference in the academic and cultural debate, in his long career and activism he has been member of the Parliament and First Chair of the Guarantor Authority for Personal Data Protection. He participated in the Venice School of Human Rights (2015) where he shared his experience with the students and always demonstrated participation and support to our activities. 

Today, on June 26, his remains will be brought to the University La Sapienza of Rome; At 11 am, in the room 101 of the School of Law, where representatives of institutions, scholars, students, technical and administrative staff will pay tribute to Stefano Rodota's figure and legacy with a funeral ceremony.

We share the thought of many in the academic world: "As a rector of La Sapienza - said Eugenio Gaudio - I wish to remember Stefano Rodotà, especially as a professor, a professor who has been able to interpret with coherence and extraordinary commitment the constitutional principles, making of his teaching a mission at the service of young people to whom he never missed listening and advicing. That is why he was loved and respected by his students who will greet him, together with the entire university community, at the Faculty where for many years he has taught."

The rector, Eugenio Gaudio, the Dean of the Faculty of Law Paolo Ridola, the Professor of Civil Law Guido Alpa, and Professor of Constitutional Law Gaetano Azzariti's, will attend and intervene at the ceremony. Also live Streaming is scheduled.
