The seminar is being planned according to the model of the PhD seminars organised by EIUC in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

As the format of these seminars was very successful, it will generally be retained. This means, in essence, that the teachers will offer presentations based on their current research interests during morning sessions, and during afternoon sessions the participants will present their own research projects and receive feedback from the group. It has been found that in addition to the benefit reaped from attending high level lectures offered by the EIUC visiting professors, the participants also benefited greatly from their interaction with one another and came away with a reinforced sense of feeling connected to young researchers from other parts of Europe working on related topics. Our aim is to achieve a similar effect during the upcoming seminar.

In practical terms, EIUC will be able to provide accommodation and lunches for the admitted PhD students (ideally 5-6 students), whereas travel and other subsistence costs should be borne by the participants themselves (or their home universities).
