Prof. Frans Viljoen visits the Latin American Programme for a series of lectures on the African System

Between 3-5 June 2015, Prof. Frans Viljoen, Director of the Centre for Human Rights of the University of Pretoria and head of the African Programme on Human Rights and Democratisation, offered a number of lectures on the African System of Human Rights for the students of the Latin American Programme on Human Rights and Democratisation, in Buenos Aires.  Prof. Viljoen´s classes explored the situation of human rights in Africa and the role of the African System´s institutions –in particular the Commission and the Court— and their interpretation of the African Charter on Human and People´s Rights.
