Prof. Kedzia appointed Chairperson of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights

EIUC President and academics congratulate Prof. Zdzislaw (Dzidek) Kedzia for his recent appointment as Chairperson of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Prof. Kedzia is the Polish national director of the E.MA Master’s Programme at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) where he teaches International Human Rights Law and Constitutional Law.

Among his professional academic and diplomatic appointments, there is his experience in the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (1994 – 2005) as Chief of the Research and Right to Development Branch.

Member of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights since 2009, Prof. Kedzia was re-elected and his terms will continue from 1 January 2013 through to 31 December 2016.
