The Venice School 2016 is going to start on 24 June 2016

The European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) is going to open the Venice School of Human Rights - Human Rights as our Responsibility, on 24 June 2016.

24-25 June, Opening Lectures
The Opening Lectures of the School will be held by Prof. Manfred Nowak, Professor at the University of Vienna and EIUC Secretary General, one of the most renowned human rights experts, by Andrew Anderson, member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York, and by Hauwa Ibrahim, human rights lawyer who won the European Parliament's Sakharov Prize in 2005. 27 June-1 July, The School
After a first session common to all participants dedicated to a general introduction on international systems of protection of human rights and related mechanisms, the programme will develop into the three thematic clusters -Business and Human Rights, Technical Progress and Human Rights and Violence against Women as Gender Based Violence. 2 July, Closing Lectures
Closing lectures will be given by Sarah Rinaldi, Deputy Head of Unit DEVCO B1-Human Rights, Gender, Democratic Governance at the European Commission

Target: The Venice School is addressed to graduate students from all academic backgrounds, students from the different regional masters in human rights and democratisation, to E.MA alumni as well as to human rights practitioners willing to deepen and improve their knowledge in human rights issues.
