Venice Human Rights Festival 2018

Every day, thousands of people fight around the world for human rights. They are activists, public servants, community leaders, and artists. Human rights defenders have a thousand different faces and it is within everyone's reach to join the fight. Every year, the students of the European Master's Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA, Global Campus Europe) organize a Human Rights Festival. This year, Human Rights Defenders are the focal point of the event.

We are celebrating a double anniversary. In 2018, it is the 20th anniversary of the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders and the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights
