Events

Most launches and events organised by the Global Campus aim to disseminate and raise awareness of the Global Study by sharing best practices and presenting its conclusions and recommendations to member States, UN agencies, NGOs, the academic community, children and the public at large.

Past events

  • 8 October 2019 – Presentation of the report on the Global Study to the General Assembly in New York, followed by a bigger launch event, organised in the Danny Kaye Center at the UNICEF House.
  • 11-15 October 2019 – Oceania Launch of the Global Study in Sydney on 11 October 2019, followed by workshops, round tables, a Cosmocafé and other events related to the dissemination of the Global Study, organised by the Australian Commission of Human Rights in Sydney.
  • 17 and 18 October 2019 – Various workshops, a lecture and a round table related to the Global Study, organised by Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia in Perth.
  • 12–16 November 2019 – Various symposia, lectures, a public conversation and meetings related to the Global Study organised by the Japanese Bar Association, the Japanese Association of International Human Rights Law and the United Nations University in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.
  • 19 November 2019 – Official launch of the Global Study in a printed and online version on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CRC at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, followed by an Evening Reception at the Hotel Intercontinental.
  • 20 November 2019 – Keynote Speech on the Global Study on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CRC at the Vienna City Hall.
  • 21 and 22 November 2019 – Lecture on the Global Study during the EMA special cluster on children’s rights in Venice.
  • 9 and 10 December 2019 – Global Study Regional launch for the Southern African region (SADC) and various other Global Study related events during an International Conference on Children’s Rights, organised by the University of Pretoria, in cooperation with the Global Campus and the Government of South Africa in Pretoria.
  • 30 January 2020 – Kilbrandon Lecture on the Global Study at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
  • 17 and 18 February 2020 – Workshop on the Global Study with representatives of the ASEAN member states, organised by the Global Campus, UNICEF and the Government of Thailand in Bangkok.
  • 19 February 2020 – Regional Launch of the Global Study for the ASEAN region, organised by Mahidol University in cooperation with the Global Campus, UNICEF and the Right Livelihood Foundation in Bangkok.
  • 2 and 3 March 2020 – Workshop on strategic litigation on children’s rights, including the implementation of the recommendations of the Global Study by means of strategic litigation, organised by the University of Nottingham in cooperation with the Global Campus in Nottingham.
  • 5 March 2020 – Presentation of the Global Study to the EU Council Working Parties on Development (CODEV) and Human Rights (COHOM) in Brussels.
  • March to June 2020 – Seminar on the Global Study at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
