Studies & Training Programme (Group 1) - First Semester

The six Timorese ✊ human rights defenders, part of the "Studies & Training Programme (Group 1)", have successfully completed the first semester of the 🌏 Global Campus Regional Master Programme in Human Rights and Democratization in Asia-Pacific, at Mahidol University in Bangkok.

During this period they attended classes, field trips, international conferences and much more. From February they are spending their second semester at the partner university, four of them at the University of Gadja Mada, in 🇮🇩 Indonesia and two at the Ateneo de Manila, in 🇵🇭 the Philipines.

Sub-regional Launch of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty in East Asia

Following the presentation of the UNGA Report relating to the Global Study to the Third Committee in New York last October, and the presentation of the comprehensive version of the Global Study to the UN in Geneva in November, it was pivotal for the findings of the Study to be presented in the different regions of the world and discuss the best way forward in implementing them and the corresponding recommendations.

The Regional launch and Open Forum on “Enacting the Recommendations in the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty in the National Agenda: Actions for East Asia Countries” took place in Bangkok on 19 February 2020 with the support of the Global Campus Asia Pacific coordinated by Mahidol University in Thailand.

Stay tuned for the next Sub-Regional Launch of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty in Rabat, during April, with the support of the Global Campus Arab World.
